On November 30,1827, there appeared before me, Simon Zimmerman, Mayor of Nackenheim, and before the Clerk of the District records of Nackenheim in the District of Oppeneheim, Heinrich Darmstadt, age 22, a blacksmith born in Weilburg in the Duchy of Nassau in 1827,[sic 1805] and living in Nackenheim, a minor son of Adam Darmstadt, a blacksmith and his wife Catherine Geisler.  Present are Appolonia Traut, bride, age 22, born and living in Nackenheim, adult daughter of a shoemaker, Philipp Traut, and Margaretha Muller, his wife, and are present and give their consent, who have asked me to perform their solemn  marriage that is scheduled and which will be announced before the main door of the village city hall, namely on the 4th of November, 1827 at 11 am: then again on the 11th of November at 11 am; then a third time on the 30th of November -- times of announcements prior to marriage.  As there were no objections given to me against the marriage, and while I intend to do as the couple asks, I have read to them the above scripture and book of civil law regarding matrimony; and after having asked the future husband and wife if they wish to take each other in matrimony and both having said "yes" individually, I so declare in the name of the law that Heinrich Darmstadt and Appolonia Traut are joined in matrimony [civil marriage].  I made this record in the presence of Johann Zimmerman, 29, Clerk of the community; Joachim Wucher, 45, farmer; Lorenz Jans, 45, shoemaker; all living in Nackenheim; and Friderich Baden, 48, owner of a large farm in Bodenheim, who signed with me and the couple.  We signed it after I read the present record to them, Philipp Traut and Margaretha Muller declared as they cannot write.
